I’ve decided this one is ‘walk of the month’ for January. We walked it yesterday, having been confined to the house by the truly miserable January weather for a few days. We convinced ourselves that once we were out and about, all would be well – and it was. The sun came out followed by all manner of birds and beasts! I think there was more variety of wildlife on this walk than we’ve ever seen before in one walk!
It’s been a while I know, but here’s another ramble…..I promise to try and pick up the pace a bit and walk more!! That’s enough about that!
This morning we followed a walk from a little book called ‘The Scottish Borders – 40 favourite walks’ by Robbie Porteous. Part of it we’ve done before and you can read about it here: The Hirsel Country Park. This walk begins in the town of Coldstream and wends its way along the banks of the River Tweed and through Dundock Woods before reaching The Hirsel. Continue reading →
Sorry it’s quiet again around the Ricketyrambler blog – life in The Borders has become a little topsy turvy lately, but hopefully things will soon be back to normal and there will be time for some rambling. Continue reading →
…but today we took a short walk around town and just a little way along the river accompanied by the younger Mr RR. You might remember we walked alongside The Teviot back in August (Scotland walks) before the BIG move. Today we just went to get some fresh air and strolled alongside The Tweed before crossing the bridge and having a quick look at the Teviot again.
I think we’ll be back to do some more walking here very soon and hopefully some rambling further afield as well – just as soon as it gets less busy in the Rickety household!
