It’s been a while I know, but here’s another ramble…..I promise to try and pick up the pace a bit and walk more!!  That’s enough about that!

This morning we followed a walk from a little book called ‘The Scottish Borders – 40 favourite walks’ by Robbie Porteous.  Part of it we’ve done before and you can read about it here: The Hirsel Country Park.  This walk begins in the town of Coldstream and wends its way along the banks of the River Tweed and through Dundock Woods before reaching The Hirsel. A discussion over a glass of wine about all the lakes and reservoirs in Cornwall and Devon with Mr O last night, resulted in a visit to Stithians Lake today.  Although it’s just up the road, we haven’t walked here before.  We were nearly put off by heavy rain this morning, but encouraged by the weather forecast which predicted sunny spells later in the day, we decided to go for it – and they were right, it turned out to be fine, and a splendid walk it was too!
