Local walking…..

Hello again!

Two blogs in one week!!  What next?!

Mr RR and I are on the local community association ‘Paths group’ which means we’re trying to get some local paths opened up around the village to encourage walkers and to allow local people access to some lovely countryside.  It’s a slow process though and currently there are only a couple of routes within walking distance of the village. I took myself off along one of these today – a 4 mile circular walk along quiet roads. Sometimes you can see hares but not today – I need to get out earlier next time. Continue reading

From Home to Hume (and back again)

On Tuesday we took a walk around Hume accompanied by Ms RR –  just returned from Denver (the one in Colorado) and suffering from jetlag! Well, she will go skipping off all over the place!  Fresh air and exercise were called for; luckily the recent iciness had passed and it was a dry, if slightly gloomy, day. Continue reading

Hello lovely readers!

Did you miss me?

Well here I am, back in the ricketyrambling mood!  We moved into our lovely house in the Scottish Borders a week ago and have been unpacking and cleaning and mending and planning. Then…..half way through the day today I suddenly decided it was time to abandon the boxes,  step away from the screwdriver and explore the local lanes instead. Such a relief to get out.
