Burrator Reservoir, Dartmoor

Thursday, 9th April 2015 (Day 4, week 14)

Aiming for 1000 miles in a year

Total so far: 279.7 miles (8.2 miles this week)

Hello

Burrator Reservoir circular (3.5 miles)

This was a completely unplanned walk.  After a picnic lunch near the reservoir we decided to walk across the dam, and then round the corner and then a little further and eventually it was just as well to walk all the way round!  So we did.

We saw a pair of pied wagtails, yellow wagtails, Canada geese, some other geese and ducks, streams and waterfalls, sheep and Dartmoor ponies.

No camera = no photos.  But it was splendid and well worth a visit if you’re in the area.  A glorious day too!  No more talking about it from me but you can see pictures and a description on this site:

It really does look like this!  When we go back I’ll do a proper post about it!!
